Biography
 J. Michael Threadgill’s strong work ethic began during his working-class upbringing in Sherman, a small town in North Texas. The son of a factory worker and homemaker, Mr. Threadgill learned early that hard work was essential to be successful in any endeavor. From working his way through college and law school, to maintaining the highest academic credentials while there, Mr. Threadgill’s drive to be the best has always been unsurpassed.
During his years as an undergraduate at Oklahoma Christian University (where he ultimately graduated summa cum laude), Mr. Threadgill developed a compassion for others that is not necessarily the norm for those in the legal profession. He was an active member of social service organizations, and (among other things) volunteered to assist with the American Red Cross in the aftermath of the 1995 Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City.
In law school at the University of Houston Law Center, Mr. Threadgill continued to distinguish himself. Besides graduating with honors toward the top of his class, Mr. Threadgill was selected to serve as an articles editor for the Houston Law Review and to become a member of the Order of the Barons.
Immediately upon graduating law school and becoming admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2000, Mr. Threadgill’s excellent credentials earned him a job with one of Houston’s largest and most esteemed law firms. Thereafter, he worked for a smaller but equally prestigious firm. Throughout, he was trusted to handle very complex litigation matters for very large companies, most of which had multi-million dollar amounts in controversy. During this time, friends, family and acquaintances would also seek Mr. Threadgill’s advice on personal legal matters. Soon, he found that he was most happy when helping people. That is why Mr. Threadgill opened his own practice dealing primarily with criminal defense and family law matters.
